Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Yotei is a desktop app and online service that reads screenshots you choose, proposes calendar events, and adds the events you confirm to your calendar (the "Service"). The Service is provided by KD Digital, Salomonszegel 57, 7322 ER Apeldoorn, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce number 42190103, VAT number NL004770008B67) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
- You press a shortcut and select an area of your screen. That image is uploaded to us.
- We use automated software, including third-party AI models, to find event details in the image and show them to you.
- Nothing is added to your calendar until you review and confirm it. You can edit events afterwards in Yotei and the change is sent to your connected calendar.
- You can connect Google Calendar, Outlook or Microsoft 365, or a CalDAV calendar such as iCloud.
3. Your account
You must give accurate information, keep your password secret, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or upload content you have no right to use;
- try to disrupt, probe or overload the Service, or get around rate limits or other protections;
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it despite this clause;
- use the Service to build a competing product or to resell access to it.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the screenshots and events you provide. You give us permission to process them only as needed to provide the Service to you: to read the screenshot, store the events you confirm, and write them to your calendar. Please do not capture content that contains information you are not allowed to share with a service provider (for example confidential material covered by your employer's rules). How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Automated results can be wrong
The Service uses AI, which can misread dates, times, time zones, names or places. That is why you confirm every event. You are responsible for checking the details before you confirm. We do not guarantee that results are accurate or complete.
7. Your calendar and other services
Connecting a calendar gives Yotei permission to create and change events in it, using the narrowest permission the provider offers. We only create and update the events you confirm in Yotei. You can disconnect at any time in the app and remove access in your Google, Microsoft or other provider account. Those services are provided by third parties under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Free use, subscriptions and payment
A limited number of automatic readings is free. After that, automatic reading needs a paid subscription. You can always enter an event by hand.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- The price, billing period and any taxes are shown at checkout before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the link in your Paddle receipt; access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
- If a payment fails we may give a short grace period and then pause paid features until payment succeeds.
9. Changes to the Service and these terms
We may change, add or remove features, and we may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect you accept it.
10. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or put the Service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example liability and governing law) continue after the account ends.
11. Availability
We work to keep the Service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, third-party outages (including calendar providers and AI providers) or events beyond our control can affect it.
12. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results.
13. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, missed meetings or lost data caused by an incorrect or missing calendar entry. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law, and the courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to use the courts where you live.
15. Language
The English version of these terms is the original and the only legally binding text. Versions in other languages are provided as courtesy translations only, to help you read it. If a translation differs from the English version, or if its meaning is unclear, the English version prevails.
