If you searched for a Photo2Calendar or Text2Event alternative, the first thing to know is where each one runs. Photo2Calendar is an iPhone and iPad app, so on a Windows PC or a Mac it is not an option. Text2Event runs in a browser, so it works anywhere, but its free tier only takes typed text. This guide lists what is left for Windows and Mac, with each tool's own prices and limits.

Everything about other products comes from what their websites state, checked on 1 November 2026, and I did not test their accuracy. I say where a site is silent. This page is a shorter, platform-specific companion to the full comparison of screenshot to calendar apps.

Disclosure. I made Yotei, one of the tools below. It is the only one I can describe from the inside, so I list its limits as plainly as the others.

The short answer

  • Photo2Calendar on Windows or Mac: not available. Its page describes an iPhone and iPad app.
  • Text2Event on Windows or Mac: works in any browser. Text is free with no account. Photos, PDFs and voice need Pro.
  • If you want to read events from anything on your screen: a desktop app (Yotei), or a Chrome extension if everything you need is in a Chrome tab (Screenshot to Calendar).
  • If you only do this occasionally: a free or pay-per-use route (Text2Event's text input, or Text-2-ICS) costs less than any subscription.

If you used Photo2Calendar on an iPhone

Photo2Calendar reads a photo or screenshot, lets you edit the fields and exports an .ics file that Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook can open. Its page tells you to check the year, date, time, location and number of events before saving, which is good advice for every tool here. If your need is on a computer, none of that moves across, because there is no Windows or Mac version listed.

If you used Text2Event

Text2Event needs no install on a computer, since its core is a website. The free tier takes text only, so a screenshot or a PDF needs Pro. If you can copy the text of the event, the free route is real and costs nothing. If you cannot, because the event is a picture, a scanned notice or an image in a chat, Pro or another tool on this list is what you need.

What works on Windows and Mac

  • Screenshot to Calendar sits inside Chrome, so it covers whatever is in a browser tab, such as Gmail, Outlook on the web or a Teams message in the browser. Events in a desktop chat app or a PDF viewer are outside its reach.
  • Text-2-ICS takes a wider range of inputs, including spreadsheets, and you download a file and import it yourself. It suits a one-off job.
  • Yotei is a desktop app: you press a shortcut and drag a box over the event, in any program. It lists what it found, you edit and confirm, and the event goes into Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud. It runs on Windows and Mac, and has no free plan, though anyone can ask for a free trial. See screenshot to calendar on Windows and pricing.

How to choose

  • You can copy the text: start with Text2Event's free text input.
  • Everything you need is in Chrome: Screenshot to Calendar's free tier.
  • You have a spreadsheet or a one-off pile of dates: Text-2-ICS.
  • Plans arrive in many programs on a computer, most days: a desktop app.

Whichever you pick, run the test from the full guide on your own material first, and check the date and the time zone on the result. Why dates go wrong explains what to look for.

How I made this guide

I read each product's own website on 1 November 2026 for platforms, inputs, outputs and prices, and wrote down what it states. Where a site says nothing, I say so, which is not the same as the product doing the opposite. I did not test the other tools and I used no affiliate links. Prices change and store prices vary by country, so check each page before you buy. If something is out of date or wrong, email support@yotei.win and I will correct it.

FAQ

Is there a Photo2Calendar for Windows?

Not according to its own page, which describes an iPhone and iPad app. The options on Windows and Mac are in the table above.

Does Text2Event work on a PC?

Yes. It runs in any browser. Text input is free and needs no account, while photos, PDFs and voice need Pro.

Which alternative is cheapest?

For rare use, Text2Event's free text input or Text-2-ICS's three free events. For daily use, the monthly plans are close to each other, around $5 to $7 a month.

Which one reads a screenshot from any program?

A desktop app that reads the screen, such as Yotei. A browser extension only sees what is in the browser.
