Best Screenshot to Calendar Apps Compared (2026)

Several apps now turn a screenshot or photo of an event into a calendar entry. They differ in where they run (browser, phone, desktop), what they accept (screenshots, text, PDFs) and how they handle your data. Below is a fair comparison of the ones people mention most, based on what each product says on its own website. Prices and features change, so check the current page before you buy.

Disclosure: I make Yotei, one of the apps listed. I have kept the facts for the others to what their own sites state.

Yotei turns a selection on your Windows or Mac screen into calendar events you review first. See how it works

How they differ in practice

Where the event is

A browser extension only sees what is in the browser. A phone app sees what is on the phone. A desktop app can see whatever is on your screen, including chat apps, PDFs and spreadsheets that never open in a browser.

What you do with the result

Some apps produce an .ics file you open in your calendar. Others push the event straight into Google Calendar or Microsoft 365. Direct sync saves a step, a file gives you more freedom about which calendar receives it.

Review before saving

Every tool above shows you what it read. This matters, because any reader can misread a digit or a time zone. See why you should review events before they reach your calendar.

Privacy: what to check

Screenshots can contain more than the event: names, messages, other tabs. Before you pick an app, find out three things on its site:

  1. Is the whole screen captured, or only the area you select?
  2. Where is the image processed, and is it stored afterwards?
  3. Who is the company, and where is it based?

For Yotei: only the area you select is read, screenshots are deleted as soon as you confirm the event or within 48 hours, and KD Digital is a Dutch company with servers in Germany. Our safety guide explains the details.

Yotei deletes the screenshot as soon as you confirm the event, or within 48 hours if you do not. The AI service that reads the screenshot may be outside the EEA and is only used after you consent. Details are in the privacy policy.

How to choose

FAQ

Which app turns a screenshot into a Google Calendar event?

Several do. Screenshot to Calendar and Text2Event can push to Google Calendar, Photo2Calendar and Text-2-ICS export an .ics file, and Yotei adds the confirmed event to Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud. See the table above.

Is there a free screenshot to calendar app?

Some have free tiers: Screenshot to Calendar (10 captures a month), Text2Event (text input) and Text-2-ICS (3 events). Yotei has no free plan for individuals, and companies can ask for a trial.

Is it safe to let an app read my screen?

It depends on what the app captures and stores. Prefer an app that reads only the area you select, shows you the result before saving, and deletes the image quickly.

Does a screenshot to calendar app work on Windows?

Yes. Browser extensions work in Chrome on Windows, and Yotei is a Windows and Mac desktop app.
