Why You Should Always Review Events Before They Reach Your Calendar

Software that reads dates and times from an image is fast, but it is not infallible. A blurred digit, a missing year or an unstated time zone can turn a correct reading into a wrong calendar entry. An editable review step, where you see what was found and fix it before it is saved, is what keeps speed from costing you accuracy.

Yotei shows every event it finds for you to edit before anything is saved to your calendar. See how it works

TL;DR

Where extraction errors come from

What a good review step offers

  1. All found events in one list, so nothing is hidden.
  2. Every field editable: title, date, start and end time, location and notes.
  3. The ability to remove an event that is not really an event.
  4. A clear confirm action, so nothing reaches your calendar until you say so.

How Yotei handles it

You select an area of your screen. Yotei reads it and shows the events it found. You can edit any field, remove events and then confirm, and the events are added to your Google or Outlook calendar. Nothing is saved before you confirm.

Yotei deletes the screenshot as soon as you confirm the event, or within 48 hours if you do not. The AI service that reads the screenshot may be outside the EEA and is only used after you consent. Details are in the privacy policy.

The ten second check

  1. Is the date right, including the year?
  2. Is the time right, and in the right zone? See calendar time zones explained.
  3. Is the title one you will recognise later?
  4. Is the location the one in the source?

FAQ

Can AI read dates from a screenshot accurately?

Mostly, but not always. Clear text is read well. Blurry text, ambiguous date formats and missing time zones are where mistakes appear, which is why reviewing is worth the few seconds.

Is it safe to add events automatically without looking?

For low-stakes items it can be fine. For meetings, flights and deadlines, a quick review is safer.

Can I edit an event after it is in my calendar?

Yes, in Google Calendar or Outlook as usual. It is quicker to fix it on the review screen first.
